Disney park goers expect Disney transportation to be up and running. However, that didn’t happen this morning.
Disney Transportation
To accommodate the enormous number of guests back and forth to Disney theme parks, Disney offers a variety of transportation options. First, Disney offers buses from most resorts to theme parks and Disney Springs. The exception to this is when different type of transportation is offered.
Next, select Disney Resorts (POP, Beach and Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera) simply hop on the skyliner to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
I (Susan) love the resorts where you can take a short walk to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. Guests don’t need to worry about any kind of transportation issues!
Also, one of my favorite ways to get around is Disney boat transportation. Lastly, those staying on monorail resorts or parking at the Ticket and Transportation Center, can hop on the monorail for a fun ride to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT.
Skyliner Issues
A huge perk of staying on select Disney World Resorts is riding the skyliner to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. However, this morning, guests received the following notification on their My Disney Experience app this morning:
“Disney Skyliner is currently experiencing a delayed open. Service will resume as soon as possible. Complimentary bus service will be temporarily available in front of EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios and between the following Resort hotels: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Riviera Resort.”
When the Disney Skyliner is down, guests need to catch buses to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests staying at the EPCOT resorts can also walk to these parks.
Unfortunately when the skyliner is down, it can cause long lines and confusion for guests used to catching the skyliner. Hopefully, Disney will have it up and running again very soon! Guests staying at EPCOT resorts also have a walking path to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

I was at HS today. The notification came well after it would have done most people any good. It was sent after early entry and right at regular park opening.
