Park Hopping

Before the parks closed in March 2020, Disney World Guests could park hop as early as they wanted as long as they had park tickets. With the reopening in July 2020, park hopping was temporarily paused so Disney could continue to limit how many Guests entered each park.

Modifications

Park hopping returned in 2021 but with some modifications. The biggest change related to the 2:00 pm rule which stops Guests from park hopping until 2:00 pm. Due to the park pass reservation system, Guests also cannot park hop until they enter the park they have a reservation for. See our complete guide to park hopping HERE.

These rules are still in effect today. However, with many other health and safety protocols that were first introduced in 2020 they may not be necessary anymore.

My Disney Experience makes it easy to see when you can park hop each day. Under each park on each date, it will give you a time which is always 2:00 pm until (insert closing time). Yesterday, we shared that park hopping times disappeared from both Apple and Android versions of the My Disney Experience app.

Capacity Limits

We know Disney is still using the park pass system to control where Guests go. It doesn’t seem like park hopping regulations are going away either. See why we think it needs a big change in this post. Do you agree that Disney is enforcing capacity limits, or is it just a way to track us?

This morning, Disney’s park hopping has reappeared on both Disneyland and Disney World apps. Although I (Susan) cannot wait for these restrictions to go away, it looks like they’re be here longer.

Park Hopping reappeared on Disney apps.

Do you agree with the park hopping restrictions? Or, does it annoy you waiting until 2:00pm? Please let us know in the comments below and on Facebook.

If one pays for a hopper ticket then they should have the freedom to hop for the entire day. My family refuses to return to Disney until things change for the better! Why does Disney think it's ok to charge full price for a park hopper ticket if patrons can only use it for part of the day? It's NOT ok Disney!

I don't see the 2:00 p.m. PH restriction going away with the opening of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Tron rides. These attractions will likely use virtual lines, and Disney will want to limit the availability of the virtual line boarding passes to those who have a park reservation for this park. I would like to see the rule that you have to enter the first park for which you have a park reservation before you can park hop go away. We never go to the parks before 2:00, and a member of my family has physical disabilities that make moving between parks very difficult. We never parked hopped prior to COVID even though we have an AP. I see no reason for this rule.

It’s annoying because it limits early lunch options…I wish the time was earlier than 2…how about 12?

12 would be so much better!

It seems as long as we have park reservations we’ll have PH restrictions. It doesn’t make sense to lift them if we still have to have an initial park reservation. I wish they’d remove both.

They 100% need to lift the PH restriction. It is literally one of the top reasons my husband doesn’t want to go back.
