Today’s Vote

Today, we find ourselves wandering Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We’re getting hungry, and we have two choices for dining: Yak and Yeti or Flame Tree BBQ?

Flame Tree BBQ

Remember when I said that we’d see some quick service restaurants put up a good fight against their more expensive counterparts? No? Well, I said it.

Flame Tree BBQ is one of those quick service places I was thinking of. It’s the only quick service restaurant to make the elite 8, and of course the only one with a shot at the final four!

This fan-favorite restaurant has great portion sizes, great food and a wonderful seating area by the Discovery River Lagoon.

Hungry adventurers can choose from pulled pork, ribs, hot dogs or chicken! Sides include American favorites like baked beans and coleslaw.

Yak and Yeti

I’ve made absolutely no attempt to conceal my personal affinity for Yak and Yeti. If you’ve been following the tournament, you’ll know it has my vote.

I prefer food with flavor and interest. I can always find that at Yak and Yeti!

My favorite menu items are the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Pineapple Fried Won Tons dessert.

my favorite disney dish, Yak and Yeti Chicken Tikka Masala

While I often make my own Chicken Tikka Masala at home, I really enjoy letting Yak and Yeti do all the work! After all, I’m on vacation!

I hardly ever order dessert at any restaurant, much less at Disney World where there are so many treats to love. But, the pineapple fried wontons are worth saving room for. I love the cream cheese, the ice cream and the honey drizzle!

Another thing to love about Yak and Yeti? It’s owned by Landry’s. That means you don’t need a reservation (for a party of 6 or fewer)! If you have a Landry’s card, you can just walk up and they will seat you, usually within about 15 minutes!

Time to Choose

So, what’s it going to be? Do you prefer to grab some American BBQ in an outdoor setting? Or will you choose Asian food in a unique, upbeat, 2 story restaurant?
