Disturbing Malfunction Aboard EPCOT's Spaceship Earth
Guests traveling aboard Spaceship Earth were a bit shocked to discover a major malfunction along their journey. See full details of what Guests encountered.
Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth is the most iconic structure in all of Epcot and probably second in all of Disney World behind Magic Kingdom's Cinderella Castle.
The premise of the 16-minute attraction is to take travelers on a journey to witness the landmark moments of innovation that made communication today possible.
Watch cavemen paint on cave walls, thank the Phoenicians for inventing the alphabet, and marvel at the invention of the printing press. Recently, we shared that a Spaceship Earth-inspired sci-fi pilot was ordered for Disney+. See full details of this new project HERE.
Spaceship Earth Refurbishment

Several years ago, Disney announced a refurbishment for Spaceship Earth. However, that project was canceled along with several others.
Earlier this month, Disney announced plans that, for the first time in nearly 20 years, Spaceship Earth is getting an update.
Disney plans to bring Spaceship Earth into the age of the internet and beyond! We hope that this will also bring new animatronics to this attraction.
Spaceship Earth Malfunction

Yesterday, August 25, 2026, Kat on TikTok shared a disturbing image from aboard Spaceship Earth. As they passed by the caveman scene, they discovered that instead of the caveman's head being positioned straight, his head now resting on his shoulder.
Caveman animatronic suffered a malfunction aboard Spaceship Earth.
Sadly, these mishaps happen more often than Disney would hope aboard Spaceship Earth. While we don't want our favorite attractions to endure a lengthy refurbishment, it appears that Spaceship Earth needs some extra Disney magic.
