A third concern also affects a Florida Theme Park, and that is extreme heat. Many guests are well aware that the summers at Walt Disney World can be hot. This may be why summer is the cheapest time to visit Walt Disney World.

Today, July 27, 2026, the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for all East Central Florida counties, which includes the Walt Disney World Resort. This begins at 11:00 am and ends at 8:00 pm.

The heat index will reach 109°. The National Weather Service ranks today as a Level 2 Moderate heat risk. Walt Disney World has not yet made changes to entertainment due to this heat advisory. However, this is subject to change. We saw a change to several entertainment options previously.

While you cannot change the weather, you can use these 3 tips to keep your family and friends safe while enjoying Walt Disney World. First, hydrate before you begin to feel thirsty.

All quick-service dining spots offer free cups of water to guests. This can be a great way to stay hydrated and enjoy a little shade and air conditioning throughout your day at Walt Disney World.

Secondly, escape the heat and take breaks indoors. Disney has brought many entertainment options indoors to help combat the Florida heat. Check these out HERE.

Thirdly, adjust your touring plan. You may want to rethink a series of outdoor attractions or outdoor entertainment options during the hottest part of the day (10:00 am through 4:00 pm).
