News: Weather Impacts Disney and Universal Theme Parks
Cooler weather is moving into Central Florida. Find out how this weather is impacted the Disney World and Universal's theme parks.
Cooler Weather Moving In

January and February was plagued with cooler temperatures, causing Winter Weather Advisories and even Frost Advisories for Central Florida.
One day (February 1st) was so cold over 20 attractions were closed. You can read more about that HERE.
Tonight, it is expected to have lows in the mid-forties with tomorrow only reaching the low to mid sixties.
Blizzard Beach Closure

During the winter months, only one of Disney World's water parks is open for Guests. Currently, Blizzard Beach is open while Typhoon Lagoon undergoes its seasonal refurbishment.
Blizzard Beach has no operating hours listed for tomorrow, March 17th, 2026.
Disney has not officially shared why Blizzard Beach has no operating hours listed, but it is not uncommon for Disney to close their water parks when lower temperatures are expected.
Volcano Bay Closure

Universal Orlando Resort has shared that Volcano Bay will be closed tomorrow March 17th, 2026 due to inclement weather.
Universal Orlando encourages guests to stay tuned to their social channels or call 407-817-8317 for updates.
We always recommend checking water park hours before venturing there, especially during the winter.
Keep in mind that later this year Volcano Bay will have a lengthy multi-month closure. This seasonal closure will begin on October 26, 2026. The park will reopen on or before March 24, 2027. You can read more about that HERE.
