Rope Drop Changes at EPCOT This Week
If you love to arrive at the Disney Parks early to avoid long lines, you will want to plan ahead for this change coming to EPCOT.
Disney World Rope Drop

Rope drop at Disney Parks essentially means the time that a particular park or experience opens. Many guests love rope drop while enjoying shorter wait times for attractions.
It is important to note that the posted park times may not be the actual park times. Guests staying at Disney World Resorts can enter all four theme parks 30 minutes earlier than the official park opening.
Guests not staying at a Disney Resort can still enjoy shorter wait times if they arrive at the parks early. These Guests may enter the Parks early, but will be held behind ropes at select locations. Lines will begin to form behind these ropes near the official park opening time.
Frozen Ever After Closing

This week, one of the more popular attractions for guests to rope drop at EPCOT, Frozen Ever After, will close for a short refurbishment starting tomorrow, January 26, 2026.
Back in October, we shared that exciting things were coming for Frozen Ever After. The animatronics in Frozen Ever After would be getting an update that would be similar to the ones in Hong Kong Disneyland's World of Frozen.
An exact reopening date is not provided, but is projected to reopen in February 2026.
Rope Drop Changes at EPCOT

This will affect the overall wait times for Guests as this is one of the more popular attractions, especially for families with young children. Closing a popular attraction sends ripple effects to other attractions' wait times.
Frozen Ever After closes January 26, 2026, and will reopen in February with no exact date given.
Expect even higher than normal wait times for Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and the Grand Fiesta Tour during this refurbishment.
Guests with young children can enjoy the many Kidcot Fun Stops throughout the World Showcase and explore the interactive SeaBase Aquarium, part of the Seas with Nemo and Friends.
Thrill-seeking guests arriving early to rope drop Test Track and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind may also experience higher crowds due to this closure. If you will be visiting EPCOT this week and in February, pack your patience.

There is of course another BIG attraction that garners long lines. Guests hoping to enjoy the free Lorcana Collection Quest during EPCOT's International Festival of the Arts this week line up early to grab their Disney Lorcana Questbook and booster pack(located at the bridge from World Celebration to World Showcase).
Disney distributes a select number of Disney Lorcana Questbooks a day. Within the first few days of the festival, this experience was sold out early afternoon. If you hope to enjoy this experience, plan to arrive early to get started with your Disney Lorcana Questbook.
