Many guests questioned when Disney planned to replace the beloved ride, Maelstrom, in the Norway Pavilion with a Frozen-themed ride.

Guests are invited to hop on an ancient Nordic boat and voyage through scenes of the film. This journey includes many of our favorite songs while also plunging guests forward and backward through the wintry world of Frozen.

This attraction is quite popular with guests both young and young at heart and often has wait times of an hour or more of waiting during peak seasons.

Although Walt Disney World allows Guests to meet Anna and Elsa and enjoy Frozen Ever After in EPCOT's Norway pavilion, Disney has now created an entire World of Frozen. The first opened in Hong Kong Disneyland, while work is still underway to bring this frozen wonderland to Disneyland Paris.

When Hong Kong Disneyland's Frozen Ever After welcomed guests, it was quite obvious that our favorite Frozen characters had received an upgrade that ditched the projection screen faces.

Michel Den Dulk, Executive Creative Director for Walt Disney Imagineering, shared, "Our figure of Elsa takes Audio-Animatronics technology to a whole new level. When you see Elsa performing her signature song "Let It Go," her facial expressions and body movements will bring her to life like never before." You can see this new technology HERE.

Many guests at EPCOT felt as though this rear projection is somewhat lacking for this key moment of this attraction.  This leads us to wonder if Disney may bring this cutting-edge technology to Walt Disney World.

Today Disney Parks shared, "Cool news: Anna, Elsa and Kristoff Audio-Animatronics figures at EPCOT will be getting refreshed to closely resemble those at Hong Kong Disneyland's World of Frozen."

A date has not yet been provided for when this change may take place, but it is simply a hint of "early next year".
