Everything that will be Closed in Universal for January 2026

Are you starting your year in Universal Orlando? Here is a list of everything that will be closed so you can plan accordingly and manage your expectations.

Closures at Universal Orlando

No one enjoys the idea of a ride or attraction being closed during a long-awaited vacation. However, knowing about closures can help you know when to pivot!

Several attractions will be closed at various locations at Universal Orlando Resort. Here is a rundown of what will be unavailable at each park.

As of now, there are no planned closures for Epic Universe for January! However, there may be unplanned weather delays, mechanical disruptions, and closures that crop up. HERE is a guide for what to do and how to pivot if it rains in Epic Universe, so you can be prepared.

Islands of Adventure

There is only one planned closure for Universal Islands of Adventure in January 2026. And, it is a LONG one.

Jurassic Park River Adventure closes January 5, 2026. It will not reopen until November 19, 2026.

Go ahead and prepare for February as well. Hogwarts Express will be unavailable February 9-23, 2026.

Universal Studios Florida

One classic coaster will be down in January. Revenge of the Mummy is set for a brief closure January 15-21, 2026.

And, remember, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is permanently closed. Demolition is well underway!

Universal Studios will be down another coaster for part of January.

There will also be one less table service restaurant available. Finnegan's Bar & Grill closes January 12, 2026, and won't reopen until winter 2026.

Volcano Bay

There will also be closures at Volcano Bay, assuming it is warm enough for the park to be open. Closures have already been announced due to inclement weather. You can see them HERE.
