TRON at Magic Kingdom
TRON is an incredibly popular attraction at Magic Kingdom that officially opened on April 4, 2023. Guests can either wait in the traditional standby line or purchase the Lightning Lane Single Pass for this attraction.
The price for this varies depending on the date, but it typically costs between $20 and $22. This already popular attraction became even more popular with a new overlay.
This September, both TRON attractions (Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom and Shanghai Disneyland) will receive a fun Ares overlay. See full details of this new change HERE.
TRON Ares Overlay
TRON received an industrial look and a new soundtrack featuring Nine Inch Nails. And, it is getting a whole new look, too!
The overlay switched up TRON's familiar blue glow. It will turn the attraction red with pulsating, glowing lights to propel the coaster as it follows orange trails of light.

TRON Overlay Change
TRON Ares was not quite the blockbuster hit that the Walt Disney Company had hoped for. It is currently available for purchase or for rent on Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Fandango at Home.
Many speculate the TRON Ares overlay will end when the film arrives on Disney+.
TRON Ares will be available on DVD and Blu-ray starting January 6, 2026. Many suspect that it will be available on Disney+ around this time (however, this is not yet confirmed).
It is the speculation of many that the TRON Ares overlay will end soon after it arrives to Disney+. If this is the case, the original TRON will return in January 2026.
