Disney Announces Surprising Changes for TRON

D23 2025 is here! The annual Disney fan event is always filled with fun news and announcements pertaining to all things Disney, from film to theme parks and beyond.

When is TRON Changing

TRON Lightcycle / Run is one of Walt Disney World's newest attractions. The rollercoaster is a copy of the popular ride at Shanghai Disneyland. It has proven to be popular in Walt Disney World as well.

And now TRON Lightcycle / Run in BOTH parks will be getting a change! And, it is happening soon!

The changes take effect in Walt Disney World on September 15, 2025. And Shanghai DIsneyland can expect changes on September 16, 2025.

TRON Change Details

The change that is coming in mid-September is a TRON: Ares overlay in celebration of the new film's upcoming release date. The coaster is turning RED, and it will be pulsing with all new red and orange lighting effects. This will replace the blue and orange effects.

Not only that, but there will be a brand new ride soundtrack. It will feature the industrial music of Nine Inch Nails from the film's soundtrack.

TRON is turning Red and will feature music from Nine Inch Nails.

This ride overlay is not permanent and will only be around for a limited time. An end date has not yet been announced.
