Disney's Grand Floridian's lobby is one of the most elegant lobbies on property. Currently, the lobby is going through a major refurbishment.

You can see video of our most recent visit HERE.

The Perch (the new bar in the lobby) had a soft opening recently, which will officially open November 10th. The Garden View Lounge, which is receiving a refreshed look similar to the lobby, will reopen (after a five year closure) early 2026.

If you were wondering when the refurbishment would be done at the Grand Floridian, you are in luck! Disney has shared when we can expect this refurbishment to be complete. They have shared:

"As part of the ongoing enhancements at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, refurbishment work will continue in select areas through mid-2026. Guests may see or hear work during daytime hours. Efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, and most pools, dining, and other amenities will remain available for Guests to enjoy...As renovations continue at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the gingerbread display will not be available during the 2025 holiday season."

Those hoping to stay at the Grand Floridian once the refurbishment is complete will need to wait a bit longer as the refurbishment will stretch into mid-2026.

On my last visit, construction work was significantly less impactful to Guests compared to my visit in August. In August, construction was in full swing, leaving Cast Member and Guest yelling to be able to hear each other over the noise.

Fortunately, the disruptions from the refurbishment in select areas should be minimal leaving guests with access to most pools, dining, and other amenities.

However, the most disappointing information with all of this refurbishment work, is still that the gingerbread house display won't take place there this year. You can catch the other resorts who will be having displays HERE.

  1. in my opinion I think it was fine the way it was. And many people love the Gingerbread House. including myself . Keeping and charm and elegance and beauty is more important then adding all this mess . Sometimes leaving things alone has more class and style.
