Disney World Announces Changes to Our Favorite Halloween Parade
It's almost Halloween and Disney just announced new changes for our favorite Halloween parade. This is pretty disappointing for many guests.
Halloween at Disney World
We love fall at Magic Kingdom. There is something special about seeing Magic Kingdom decked out in pumpkins. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party runs through October 31st on select evenings from 7 p.m. to midnight.
Walt Disney World Theme Parks are decked out for the Halloween season, and even select resorts offer fun fall theming. Guests can enjoy great dining and entertainment at any of the Disney Resorts. You do not have to have a resort reservation to make dining reservations at select resort table service restaurants.
Fort Wilderness goes all out for Halloween! Many campers love to visit Disney during this time and decorate their campsite. Even if you do not have an RV, you can still stay in a cabin and get to be part of the fun.
New Halloween Parade Rules
Fort Wilderness will even organize a Halloween-themed "Golf Cart Parade," and the Headless Horseman has been known to make an appearance during the Halloween season.
Guests and Cast Members create AMAZING golf cart "floats". You can see a few of these from previous years HERE. Now Disney has created new rules for this Halloween Parade, which may affect guests' plans as they prepare to participate in the golf cart parade.
Disney shares, "For the safety of all resort guests, the following decoration guidelines have been implemented: Decorated guest carts cannot exceed 8 feet tall in height, from the ground, and decorated guest carts cannot exceed 10 feet in width."
These new rules are displayed in the bike barn, and many guests are wondering why Disney did not share this new update weeks ago, as many have been making preparations.
Hard Closure for Disney Resort
Due to the popularity of the "Golf Cart Parade", trick or treating at guest campsites, and great Halloween displays, Disney has issued a hard closure at Fort Wilderness in years past. At this time, Disney has not announced a hard closure this year.

A hard closure limits access to guests with a resort or dining reservation ONLY. If you are hoping to visit Disney's Fort Wilderness & Campground for the Halloween festivities, you may need to make a dining reservation as soon as possible.
