There is so much to enjoy and do at Walt Disney World Resort that extends far outside simply the 4 Theme Parks. Guests can enjoy great dining and entertainment at any of the Disney Resorts. You do not have to have a resort reservation to make dining reservations at select resort table service restaurants.

Guests can even enjoy fun entertainment such as the fun Sing-along with Chip ‘n’ Dale at Fort Wilderness. Be sure to check out the full details for this FREE activity HERE. For the majority of dates, all guests are free to visit Walt Disney World Resorts, but restrictions have been put in place on a few occasions.

In July, Disney placed restrictions at resorts that offer great fireworks viewing. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian firework viewing locations were restricted to only guests staying at these resorts.

As we approach Halloween, Disney announced a new restriction in place at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Fort Wilderness goes out all for Halloween! Many campers love to visit Disney during this time and decorate their campsite. Even if you do not have an RV, you can still stay in a cabin and get to be part of the fun.

They usually organize a special golf cart parade, and the Headless Horseman has been known to make an appearance during the Halloween season.

This all leads to many guests who are not staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness & Campground to visit during the Halloween time. This may be a little more difficult this year for guests without a current reservation.

Disney now announced a “hard closure” for Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground starting on October 26 through November 2, 2023. This will limit access to guests with a resort or dining reservation ONLY.

Typically guests can add a “Day Guest” to their resort reservation. For this hard closure on October 26-November 2nd, this option will not be available. If you are hoping to visit Disney’s Fort Wilderness & Campground for the Halloween festivities you will need to make a dining reservation as soon as possible.

Good. Some time ago I called Disney and with lots of patience, worked my way up their corporate phone food chain to a V.P, and reported an Orlando / Kissimmee Air B&B that was running Fireworks and Resort Bar Van Tours at 40 bucks a pop to the Poly, the Floridian and others on a regular basis, taking up viewing space at, for instance Narcossees deck, that paying guests should have. Maybe they actually listened.
