The Official Closing Date For Disney’s Buzz Lightyear Ride

So many rides are closing at Walt Disney World. Now we have the official closing date for a popular Toy Story-themed attraction.

Major Changes in Store for Disney World

Every single theme park in Walt Disney World is undergoing significant changes right now. EPCOT’s rethemed Test Track is about to reopen while Spaceship Earth is closing.

Over at Hollywood Studios, the Muppets show has closed, and the Muppets are relocating to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Meanwhile, a Monsters Inc. coaster is taking over! And, Animal Kingdom is saying bye to Dinoland to make space for new Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions.

And there is a LOT going on in the Magic Kingdom. Tom Sawyer’s Island and Liberty Square Riverboat both close next week to make way for Piston Peak. And, many refurbishments are happening, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid, The Hall of Presidents, and Astro Orbiters.

Now we have the closing date for the Magic Kingdom’s Toy-story Themed Attraction.

Buzz Light Year’s Space Ranger Spin

Recently, a refurbishment was announced for yet another Magic Kingdom Attraction. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is set for refurbishment.

This is going to be a long one. Permits revealed that the refurbishment for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin could last well into 2026.

The Walt Disney World calendar gave us some clues as to when the attraction might close. And now those dates have been confirmed.

When Does the Buzz Lightyear Ride Close

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will close on August 4, 2025. The last day to ride it in its current state and earn Galactic Hero Status (for now) is August 3, 2025.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closes on August 4, 2025.

The ride is set to open sometime in 2026. It is set to receive updated vehicles, a new show scene, and other enhancements.
