Disney Archives Reveals Special Tribute to the Muppets
It's almost the last time for the Muppets "to play the music and light the lights!" at Disney's Hollywood Studios, but Disney Archives has a special tribute for Muppet fans.
Muppet Courtyard Closing

Disney's Hollywood Studios has undergone many changes over the years. Muppet Vision 3D was the final major project that Jim Henson directed before he passed in 1990. It originally opened on May 16, 1991.
This film is special to many Muppet and Disney fans who have enjoyed it for several decades and as a final masterpiece created by Jim Henson. When Disney originally shared that the Muppet Courtyard would close to make room for a Monsters Inc.-themed land, this news was somewhat bittersweet.
Disney shared, "As we move forward with these changes, we are having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future."
Preserving the Muppets

Disney has shared that a special filming event will took place last month to archive Muppet Vision 3D. Disney did not specify how they would preserve Muppet Vision 3D, but this special filming may indicate that this film could one day be shared at the Disney Parks or even on Disney+.
Today, the D23 shared a special tribute to the Muppets with the Walt Disney Archives. The Walt Disney Archives serves as the corporate archive of the Walt Disney Company.
D23 shares, "At our recent D23 Spotlight Series event celebrating 55 years of Walt Disney Archives, we unveiled an un-frog-ettable new addition to the collection: Kermit the Frog, used by Disney Legend Jim Henson."
Disney Archives

This is the perfect time to add Kermit to the Walt Disney Archives. The bond between the legacy of Jim Henson and the Walt Disney Company is strong even with the change of Muppet Courtyard.
Kermit, used by Jim Henson, has now been added to the Disney Archives.
The Walt Disney Archives offers a 10,000 square-foot traveling exhibit that includes "450 objects, including artwork, costumes, and props that tell the story of the Archives, the Walt Disney Company, and Walt Disney himself." Check out our full review when this exhibit came to Memphis, TN HERE.
It will be interesting to see if this Kermit will be included in the traveling exhibit. Check out the fun reveal of Kermit below:
