Muppet Re-Theme

There has been a lot of speculation swirling around for Disney’s Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attraction has undergone lengthy refurbishments a few times, leading many fans to wonder if a possible retheme would be announced.
In November, Walt Disney World confirmed a Muppets re-theme of the popular attraction.
Disney shared, “We know so many of you share our love for The Muppets and know their energy will be a perfect fit for this coaster. Plus, as the first Disney ride ever to feature The Muppets, there’s sure to be laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure and plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard.”
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Closing

The timing of this announcement comes on the final day that Guests may visit the Muppet Courtyard.
Disney indicated that there is still plenty of time to enjoy the attraction as it is now before the retheming takes place in 2026.
Although Disney did not provide an exact closing date, we expect this may be in early 2026. The new Muppet retheme is also expect to open on 2026.
Reason for the Change

Disney plans to replace the Muppet Courtyard with a Monsters, Inc. land. The new land will include “a whole new theater show” in the Muppet*Vision 3D theater.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will close in 2026.
The Disney Parks Blog shares, “To make way for the monsters, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and more of their friends will be moving right along to Sunset Boulevard!”
