Disney’s Hollywood Studios prepares for the final stretch, “in fact, make it a super stretch”, for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Check out the first permit and see the updated closing timeline for this attraction.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Closing

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing a pretty big transformation. The real started last weekend, when Muppet Courtyard closed to make room for a new Monsters Inc. Land.
Many Disney fans were sad to see the closure of the Muppets. Back in November, Disney shared, “We know so many of you share our love for The Muppets and know their energy will be a perfect fit for this coaster (Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster).”
“Plus, as the first Disney ride ever to feature The Muppets there’s sure to be laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure.”
When Will Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Close?

Disney indicated that there is still plenty of time to enjoy the attraction as it is now before the retheming takes place in 2026.
Disney announced that the A new Muppet retheme is also expected to open on 2026. It seems that even simple changes take longer than expected at Disney so this quick turnaround seems a bit odd.
Although Disney has not shared an exact closing date for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, we would suspect that it will be early 2026 to allow time for this transformation.
First Permit Filed

Just days after this big announcment, Disney files what appears to be the first permit to prepare for this new Muppet takeover. The permit filed is for a trailer, located near the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. This trailer is utilized by Walt Disney Imagineering.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will close in 2026.
Work will include general construction for this space. With the trailer close to Rock’n’ Roller Coaster, this space may be used to prepare and store thematic elements and planning for the Muppet retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
