Universal is building a new roller coaster. Today the theme park giant provided excited fans with an all-new report about what to expect.
A New Roller Coaster for Universal Parks

Universal is busily working on a brand new roller coaster to thrill fans. With awesome recent additions like Velocicoaster and Stardust Racers, this new coaster has a lot to live up to!
The new coaster is called Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. According to Universal Parks, it “will debut as the fastest roller coaster in the Universal Destinations & Experiences portfolio at a staggering 72 MPH.”
Construction has already begun, and it seems like a worthy representation of the Fast & Furious franchise. Unlike the current Fast & Furious: Supercharged ride in Orlando, this one promises to be FAST.
Groundbreaking Ride Details

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be the first of its kind for Universal Studios Hollywood. It is the park’s first-ever high-speed outdoor roller coaster! It will round out the park nicely.
Not only that, but it will allow guests to enjoy a new sensation when they experience the 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles! The fully rotational vehicles are meant to emulate the sensation of drifting cars as the coaster rockets guests along 4100 feet of track.
Not only that, but the vehicles will be modeled after Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger, which is currently on display at Universal Studios Hollywood. This adds another layer of fun to the attraction. They might be the most attractive roller coaster ride vehicles ever.
When Does Universal’s New Coaster Open

You can expect to ride Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift relatively soon! The coaster is set to open in 2026!
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift opens in 2026.
It will not be the only new rollercoaster joining the Universal Parks collection of attractions. Epic Universe added four new roller coasters to the mix already this year, including Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, Curse of the Werewolf, Mine-Cart Madness, and Stardust Racers. And, of course, there is also a new rollercoaster set to replace Hollywood RIP Ride Rockit when it closes. You can read about its final days HERE.
