Do you still miss Disney’s FastPass? Disney just revealed a new MagicBand+ interaction that gives serious FastPass vibes that leaves us wanting even more.
Disney Missing Perks

One of the common complaints among Disney fans is the many missing perks that were once enjoyed around the Disney Parks. To many, it seems that Disney used the 2020 park closures as an opportunity to reset the numerous perks offered at the Disney Parks.
Free FastPasses for guests was one of the hardest missing elements when the parks reopened in 2020. Disney promised a new solution, but this came at a cost. The initial Disney Genie+ service debuted at $15, and initially, fans were outraged.
The price continued to increase until a new Lightning Lane service was announced for summer 2025. Guests do enjoy the ability to book selections early, but the added cost for an entire family is staggering. See our honest review of Lightning Lane Multipass HERE.
MagicBand+ Interactions

In addition to this change, Walt Disney World announced that they would no longer offer free MagicBands for Walt Disney World Resort guests. Disney promised a “new and improved” offer with MagicBand+.
Of course, this comes with a higher price tag than the original MagicBands, but it offers fun interactions during shows, Bounty Hunting through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the Walt Disney World character statues that were first unveiled for the 50th Anniversary back in 2021.
Now, at Disneyland, a new interaction has just debuted, giving us a new reason to charge our MagicBand+.
New MagicBand+ Interaction

As Disneyland prepares for the beginning of its 70th Celebration on May 16, 2025, we spied a brand new MagicBand+ interaction. Frontierland offers fun MagicBand+ checkpoints at the Frontierland Dinseyland Railroad Station, at Mark Twain’s Riverboat, and at the Golden Horseshoe Restaurant.
Frontierland offers great MagicBand+ interactions.
Once you scan with your MagicBand+, there is a special sound effect, and a ticket is issued. Our first thought was that feeling when you received your FastPass return time ticket. Thanks to finding_denny for sharing this cool interaction.
This is such a fun interaction and makes for a great souvenir. Now bring this kind of magic to Walt Disney World!
