Do you remember the weeks leading up to the 50th anniversary when Disney announced a new golden statue every day? It feels like so long ago! Disney installed 50 golden statues throughout all four theme parks in celebration of the 50th anniversary.

You may find Woody and Jessie at Hollywood Studios and Nemo over at Animal Kingdom. When you wave your MagicBand+ in front of the statue, they “come to life” and play music/talk.

The ribbons and jewels may be gone from Cinderella Castle, but these 50 statues remains. You can find a big list of statues and a fun behind-the-scenes look in this post.

Disney just announced they are refreshing and updating the statues. Over the next few months, Imagineers will refresh all the statues across the four theme parks for future enjoyment.

Judging by the photo, it looks like some fresh paint is on the agenda! But, we have a few more suggestions.

One of the big complaints with these statues is they are not always responsive. Guests sometimes have to frantically wave their MagicBands in front of the statues in order to get the statue to interact.

We would also like to see the volume on these turned up or the speakers repaired because several of them were hard to hear when they did interact. Hopefully by the end of the year all of the 50 statues will be completely refreshed!
