Just when we think we have seen the height of price increases, Walt Disney World surprises us yet again. Take a look at the current price increasing trend and how this may affect your next Walt Disney World trip.
Lightning Lane
This summer, Disney retired Disney Genie+ and ushered in a new system known as Lightning Lane Multi Pass (good for multiple attractions) and Lightning Lane Single Pass (good for a single attraction).
The primary benefit of this new system is that guests can now make advanced reservations. Onsite Guests will be able to purchase and make selections 7 days ahead of their arrival date. Offsite Guests will be able to do so 3 days ahead.
The process to book both Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections and your Individual Lightning Lane selections is now streamlined quite a bit which makes advanced planning even easier. Enjoy this step-by-step tutorial on Lightning Lane selection and also see an honest review of Lightning Lane HERE.
New Price Increases
Just like with Disney Genie+, both Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Single Pass use variable pricing. Prices increase as demand increases for holidays and heavy travel times.
We can now see pricing for Lightning Lane selections through October 21, 2024, and we noticed a surprising change. TRON Lightcycle Power Run experienced its first price increase ever on Friday, October 18, 2024, jumping from $20 to $21.
Since TRON first opened in April 2023, the price has remained steady at $20. Now we see the second price increase for TRON on Monday, October 21 at $22 per person.
More Price Increases
The price increases do not stop with TRON. For example, the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass for Magic Kingdom on October 21st is a staggering $32.
The only constant is Rise of the Resistance remaining at $25.
On October 21, 2024, prices will increase for many more Lighting Lane Single Pass attractions including:
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train $14 (previously $12)
- Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind $19 (previously $17)
- Flight of Passage $18 (previously $16)

We were there September 1-7 and tron was$23 the whole time. Since they pretty much took DAS away for most people who still legitimately need it, we had no choice but to buy LL and multi pass( I'm sure that's exactly what disney wants) and it added a big expense to the trip.
