Construction at The Fort

There has been lots of construction happening at The Fort over the last year. Construction projects include Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, the new DVC cabins, a potential DVC sales area, and most recently construction near the Meadows pool.

The DVC cabin construction caused a road closure for all Guests. It is believed this area was for staging of the cabins.

At the first turnaround, just beyond the 2000 loop, there is a sign that reads “NO TRESPASSING This area is a designated construction site, and anyone who trespasses on this property commits a felony.”

Condensed Bus Routes

The bus routes can be a bit confusing at The Fort right now due to the road closure. There are three internal bus routes; Orange, Purple, and Yellow.

The Purple route previously went from the Outpost and then took a left onto Frontier Way and made its way to the Settlement Depot. The Orange route went from the Outpust and took a left onto Peacock Pass (through the cabins) then took a right onto Frontier Way and finally reached the Settlement Depot by way of Fort Wilderness Trail.

The Creek Side Meadow (primitive camping area) is currently closed, leaving the busses not needing to reach the final bus stop (Purple route) on Frontier Way. This makes the Purple and Orange routes very similar. Because of this, Disney has combined the Orange and Purple bus routes into one route, Orange.

If you are planning to use the Orange (Orange/Purple) bus route, we recommend planning extra time. Because of the route change, it could take longer to reach your final destination.
