In a recent SEC filing, Disney shared it has really big plans to expand its theme parks, cruise ships, and more. And just how do they plan to do that? By doubling their investment to almost 60 BILLION dollars over the next 10 years.

It’s worth noting that 70% of the plan is set aside for capacity-expanding investments. That could include new resorts, new ships, expanded lands, and more.

Recently, we shared that 30 billion dollars would be spent on theme parks. Take a look HERE to see if that will be enough.

Disney announced a potential expansion of Magic Kingdom during the 2022 D23 weekend. At that time, it was just an idea they were considering instead of a concrete plan.

At that time, Disney shared concept art and teased three different concepts: Coco, Encanto, and Villains.

The potential expansions include a Coco-themed area, where the inhabitants would be celebrating Día de Muertos. Another expansion may be based on the movie Encanto, where guests can enter the world of Mirabel in Fantasyland. The third expansion could be Villain’s Land, which would include more attractions, restaurants, and shopping.

Disney just took a huge step in making the largest Magic Kingdom theme park expansion!

Disney executive Bruce Vaughn stated that these Magic Kingdom plans are the “largest ever.” With this expansion, crowds will be more evenly dispersed through Magic Kingdom. However, we don’t have a timeline yet on when this will be completed.
