The great Disney Park news keeps on coming! Hop on board for this new update.
New Updates Announced
This morning is the Destination D23 at Walt Disney World and the Dinsey Park news is just streaming in. From the opening date for Journey of Water, to the materializing of the Hat Box Ghost, to a new Star Wars experience, and even a great update for the Country Bear Jamboree.
As the presentation continues this morning, the updates continue as well. As we head over to EPCOT, we get an opening timeline for the nighttime spectacular. They also shared a great new refurbishment for a fan-favorite attraction.
Test Track
Head over to the Chevrolet Design Center and build your own virtual concept car. Choose body type, style, color, and more and then take it for a spin on Disney’s test course. You’ll be scored on different criteria like efficiency, speed, adaptability, and more.
Finish off with a final race around the track. This is one of the fastest rides at Disney, reaching up to 65 mph!
Test Track is a favorite among Disney World Guests because it’s the only Epcot attraction to offer thrills. Of course, this was before Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened back in 2022.
Now Disney is once again partnering with Chevrolet to bring new technology and a great new refurbishment to Test Track at EPCOT. This will help this attraction to stay up to speed (see what we did there).
This will be a great refurbishment. A start date has not yet been set by Diseny nor a timeline for how long this attraction may be closed for this refurbishment.

Live next to Disney. Love Disney but execs are crushing Walts vision and dream. It took Disney execs a full year to finally start the refurbishment after announcement at D23. Still nothing new , only refurbished rides and movie remakes and now the firing of animators to make way for AI. No visionaries left at Disney. More rhetoric coming in July at D23. Meanwhile Epic Universal is going to be phenomenal. Bob Iger needs to go.

Hope it won’t be closed next August as taking the grandkids and they don’t get to go very often

I welcome a refresh of Test Track. The original Test Track experience was far more interesting than today's version. I especially liked the engineering introduction from Bill McCale (?) in the pre boarding video. It was all part of the EPCOT educational theme. I would prefer a return to something like that, maybe with a focus this time on alternative fuel sources, rather than antilock brakes, that were new at the time Test Track first opened. Make it happen, Josh!
