Review: One Bedroom Saratoga Springs Resort

Review: One Bedroom Saratoga Springs Resort

One bedroom villas at Disney provide a unique accommodations for Guests. Come with me on a full review of a one bedroom villa at Saratoga Springs Resort.

Saratoga Springs

Disney’s Saratoga Springs is inspired by historic Saratoga Springs, a late-1800’s New York retreat famous for its spas and horse racing. At this Disney Deluxe resort, guests enjoy this charming, Victorian-style Resort hotel is nestled between rolling golf course greens and Lake Buena Vista.

Check out our complete resort guide HERE. Also, be sure to check out our review of a studio at this resort HERE.

One Bedroom Villa

One bedroom villas at Disney are a unique and amazing accommodation. This is usually an easier category to book in because it only sleep 4-5 people, which is the same amount that a deluxe studio can fit.

Personally, one bedroom villas are my (Heather) favorite. They offer so much space for your family to truly relax and enjoy and not feel on top of each other. Another big perk with one bedroom villas and bigger is a full kitchen and a washer and dryer and every unit!

Let’s get to that room tour and review!

Entryway

The entryway is nice and open when you first walk in offering a place to store your park bags and stroller. Yes, even a double stroller can fit here!

I loved the table and mirror here in the entry way. It was the perfect place to keep our park items (cooling towels, fans, ears), so nothing was forgotten on our way out the door. Plus, with the mirror you could get one last check of those Minnie ears to make sure they are looking perfect!

There is some space if you wanted to store luggage here (we stored our cooler here), but personally there is a much bigger closet in the room for that.

This area has an open concept. So, once through the entryway you look straight into the kitchen and living room. I do like this, so that if you choose to prepare food in the room, the person cooking isn’t left out of anything!

The washer and drier is in a small closet right off the entryway. Having the laundry right in your room is always an amazing feature, and I just love having it.

Kitchen

I never thought I would like cooking food on vacation, but after staying in a one bedroom, I wouldn’t do it any other way. My family personally picks a couple of table service restaurants for our vacation and prepare the rest of our meals in the room.

Your fully equipped kitchen will have:

  • Dishwasher
  • Dishes, glasses and utensils
  • Pots and pans
  • Refrigerator
  • Stove and oven
  • Toaster
  • Microwave
  • Coffee maker

Did you know that you can also call to request a blender? You sure can! Other things you will find (to truly make you feel at home) are dishwasher detergent, dish soap, paper towels, pot holders, and kitchen towels. You really do have everything you need!

Right next to the kitchen is a dining table with a bench seat and two chairs. Personally, I like having all chairs, but this works just fine.

Living Room

The living room only offers a couch for seating, but it is a larger than normal couch. It offers an additional seat, which remains there when the bed is out.

When Saratoga Springs went through its refurbishment they changed the couches. The couch is now a Murphy style bed versus the pull out couch. This makes such a difference for the person sleeping here.

The Murphy style bed is very comfortable along with the pull down twin bed under the tv. It is wonderful to have the third sleep space in the one bedroom villas. You feel like you can’t fit plenty of people in here, but they don’t always sleep as many as you feel it should.

I would gladly take the third sleep surface over the chair in some four person sleeper one bedroom villas. There was also a coffee table that was easy to move around the room, which was great when pulling down the couch.

There is a laminate style flooring throughout the entry, kitchen, and living room and makes for very easy clean up after meals! This is a fantastic update over the previous carpet.

We even had, “Hey Disney!” in our room.

Bedroom

The bedroom has a king size bed. You will also find a chair and two night stands. There is carpeting in the bedroom which does give it a more homey feel.

One thing I love with the refurbishment is that you will ALWAYS have enough outlets. There are places to charge all of your devices throughout the bedroom. The dresser has several outlets built in, which include USB ports. The night stands also have several outlets.

You will also find another large tv in this room. This tv is above the dresser, and the dresser offers lots of drawers to unpack your things for the week!

Bathroom

The bathroom layout may be my least favorite set up, however I still like a lot of its features. One room has a shower and a sink, but you will need to go through this shower room to get to the room that has the toilet. So, if someone is in the shower, the toilet is inaccessible.

There is another room off the bathroom that contains a bath tub and sink. The sink vanity is large but, unfortunately, only has one sink. This does still offer plenty of space to get ready in the morning.

The bathtub is big and deep. An adult will be able to soak in this tub with no problem, which will feel amazing after a long park day! However, this tub has no jets. Many one bedroom villas offer jetted tubs, but Disney removed the jetted tub with this refurbishment.

Continuing through the area with tub, you will find a MASSIVE closet. Here you will find your ironing board, in-room safe, and plenty of space to store all of your luggage. I love being able to store all the luggage here, and really make this place feel like “HOME” for the week.

Balcony or Patio

Every villa at Saratoga Springs offers a patio or balcony. This is probably my favorite space! I love being able to enjoy my morning coffee or a night cap at the end of the day out here.

Our balcony was the same size as a studios, but it still offered plenty of space. A small table and two chairs are provided.

Final Thoughts

The layout at Saratoga Springs one bedroom is very similar to that of the one bedroom villa at Boardwalk Resort. You can see that room HERE.

However, my favorite one bedroom across all of Disney World property is at Old Key West as it has a different layout than any other one bedroom. You can see that layout HERE.

If you are debating on spending more time at the resort versus the parks it may be worth getting the extra space. I won’t lie that once you stay in a one bedroom, it is hard to go back to a studio. This one bedroom villa offers space, functionality, and a relaxing experience at Saratoga Springs Resort. You will not be disappointed if you book this room category.

Is the ability to request a blender something that can be done in the DVC studio suites? I'll be staying at BLT in October in a studio suite. I always pack a portable blender for my WDW trips because I like to make a breakfast smoothie each day. But the portable blender doesn't do such a great job. If I could request a blender that would be huge!
