Refurbishments are a part of life at Walt Disney World. It’s not uncommon for at least one attraction to be closed at any given time. Restaurants, hotels, and other areas of the property also need freshened up for optimal guest enjoyment.

Refurbishments may take place for various reasons. Whether it be for mechanical issues or cosmetic updates, a refurbishment can take place for many reasons. Based on the nature of the work, the refurbishment may be a few days or several months. Take a look HERE at our master Disney World refurbishment list.

Many resorts on property are undergoing refurbishment lately. From restaurants to villas and everything in between, there’s a lot of construction and remodeling happening.

And Beach Club is no different. Currently, Disney is in the process of refurbishing the villas. This has been an ongoing process for all of 2023, but work should hopefully be done in the next few months.

Las week, we announced HERE that Disney is updating the Solarium. Work should be done by mid-September, but Disney has not provided a specific date at this time.

Disney’s Beach Club is home to Stormalong Bay, one of the best feature pools at Disney World! Enjoy a pirate shipwreck, a lazy river, sand bottom pool, and so much more. You can read more about why we think it’s the best pool HERE.

Often guests stay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts because the sand bottom pool and amazing slide are so much fun year-round.

However, Disney announced today that both Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closing for 5 months! From January until May 2025, both of these pools will stay closed for routine maintenance. Disney has advised guests that during this time they may see or hear construction during daytime hours.

Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed for maintenance from January through May 2025!

Would you still stay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club if the pools were closed? Please let us know what you think in the comments and share this post with a friend.
