Biggest Price Increase For New Disney Genie+ Model

We can’t say this comes as a surprise, but it will really hurt your wallet. Check out the big price increase!

When Genie+ first debuted, pricing was set at $15 at Disney World. However, last fall Disney introduced variable pricing. With date-based theme park ticket pricing and Disney’s announcement that Guests could no longer purchase Genie+ in advance, variable pricing came as a little surprise.

In doing so, it allowed Disney to control pricing based on demand. This newest change even allows Disney to control pricing based on demand in each park. That’s right – Disney announced last week that Genie+ pricing would vary between parks! Read the full story HERE.

Once this new price tier model debuted, Disney guests were quite divided on this new change. The following day we saw a slight price decrease which gave us hope that this may be an improvement.

Many guests were curious about what this new pricing model may look like with holiday crowds. It appears that crowd levels are on the rise, according to the Orlando International Airport.

With higher crowd levels, this places more of a demand on Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. When this new Disney Genie pricing tier debuted, prices were set at:

  • Multiple parks: $27
  • Magic Kingdom: $27
  • EPCOT: $18
  • Hollywood Studios: $24
  • Animal Kingdom: $16

Today, July 3rd, the prices have increased for all 4 Theme Parks. This is the new pricing model:

  • Multiple parks: $29
  • Magic Kingdom: $29
  • EPCOT: $21
  • Hollywood Studios: $26
  • Animal Kingdom: $18

Just as a reminder, at Walt Disney World, Disney Genie+ goes on sale at 12:00 am (midnight) and can sell out. We have seen this at busier times with holidays and spring breaks. This is something to keep in mind if you hope to utilize Disney Genie+ this week with Parks now at capacity.

Today, July 3rd, the price for Disney Genie+ has increased for all 4 Theme Parks.

What do you think of this new pricing tier? Do you think pricing may rise even higher in the future? Will this change your decision to purchase Disney Genie+ during your next trip to Walt Disney World? Share your thoughts with us and share this great news with a fellow Disney pal.

This is what I think Disney has done. They put out statements saying they have capped and restricted entry into parks. So we all think GREAT! Less people. But in reality they introduce a fee to have people pay for a better park experience by skipping long lines? It’s like they think we won’t notice the hypocrisy in all of it. Others have stated, if we don’t pay, it will go away. It won’t. It doesn’t cost them anything to keep the tiers active. Use it or don’t, they don’t care, but they most assuredly will increase the amount of folks they let in. Disney will make money one way or another. Either from price gouging the folks who love the parks, or Disney +, or products. It’s a business with high stakes and share holders. They stopped caring about park guests along time ago.

Hardly a shock. However, and I’ve said it before, they have the right to monetise it. Fair enough. My objection is you pay before knowing what you get. The ideology is flawed.

As long as people are stupid enough to pay for it, Disney will keep it. If no one bought Genie+, Disney would have to rethink it, i.e. Galactic Starcruiser.

Is it a standard price or not??? They’ve become like florists at Valentine’s Day. When the customer count is up, they charge more. What a ripoff!!!!
