The Disney Parks are getting busier as guests arrive to celebrate the 4th of July at the “Most Magical Place on Earth” in a few days. It also seems as if the heat is cranked up as well.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management issued a warning to both residents and guests of Florida. Be sure to check out this warning and safety tips HERE.

Now the Orlando International Airport shares that this next week will be a busy one for them as well.

This year the Orlando International Airport was named one of the 10 busiest airports in the United States. With Disney World, Universal, Legoland, Sea World, and so many other theme parks and attractions, millions of people fly in and out of the airport every year.

With growing demand came an airport expansion. Terminal C recently opened at MCO boasting international gates as well as shopping and dining opportunities. It is definitely a bustling airport, and it will only be busier over the holiday weekend.

For July 4th, there is a 13 Day travel period that the Orlando International Airport (MCO) prepares for. As this travel period is well underway, the MCO makes early predictions. They anticipate a 16% rise in passengers this year over last year.

“We are projecting approximately 2 million passengers during the upcoming break,” says Kevin Thibault, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “With the expected increase in traffic, our teams are fully staffed and ready to assist passengers as needed. We also advise, due to the volume, that passengers allow themselves plenty of time when coming to the airport.”

This is broken down in the following predictions:

  • Friday, June 30th: 157,400
  • Saturday, July 1st: 181,100
  • Sunday, July 2nd: 156,800
  • Monday, July 3rd: 149,700
  • Tuesday, July 4th: 136,00
  • Wednesday, July 5th: 151,600
