Since its launch in 2021, Disney World's Genie+ cost $15, and Disneyland's version cost $20 per person (plus any applicable tax). However, guests have since seen pricing anywhere from $15-$29 at Disney World and $20-$30 at Disneyland with this new pricing.
With date-based theme park ticket pricing and Disney's announcement that Guests could no longer purchase Genie+ in advance at Walt Disney World, variable pricing came as little surprise. Disney saw a way to increase revenue during peak crowd levels on this service and capitalized on it.

Before this week, Genie+ had never sold out, but there is a first time for everything. Over at Disneyland, Disney Genie+ sold out for the first time on Tuesday, December 27th, and also yesterday, December 28th.
Today at 11:30 am, Disney Genie+ sold out for a third consecutive day for both Disneyland and California Adventure. This is frustrating for guests but can be easily avoided at Disneyland.
Disneyland guests may purchase Disney Genie+ before their visit when purchasing a new ticket or vacation package. This allows guests to secure Disney Genie+ for the day of their visit. With Disney Genie+ selling out, it is a great idea to purchase this before your park visit.
Guests can still purchase Disney Genie+ on the Disneyland app after entering the park. The only downside with this is that availability is limited as evidenced over the past few days.
