Refurbishment is a dreaded word for Disney fans who will soon be visiting the Disney Parks. In theory, we all understand that refurbishments are a necessary part of keeping each Park magical.

However, it is sad when one of your favorite attractions or even resort pools are affected by an extended refurbishment. It is even more troubling when multiple attractions are all affected in the same period.

Starting in 2023 the Disney Skyliner will undergo a brief refurbishment. At Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain will be closed briefly, and Splash Mountain will close for a complete retheme. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Kali River Rapids will be closed for refurbishment as well.

Refurbishment work continues at Walt Disney World Resorts including Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and also the Grand Floridian.

New Refurbishment Announced

Another refurbishment is announced for Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World has so many great recreational activities to enjoy outside of the theme parks.

Winter Summerland is different from any other miniature golf course you’ve ever experienced. That’s because Santa Claus, himself, designed it!

Late one Christmas Eve, as Santa was flying back to the North Pole, he discovered snow in Florida. After surveying the strange sight, he decided to build a vacation destination for his off-duty elves, a Winter Summerland.

Seeing that the only thing Winter Summerland lacked was a golf course, Santa and his elves divided into 2 camps, one that enjoyed the warm Florida sun and another that preferred the snow and cold of the North Pole. The elves then built 2 distinctly different 18-hole golf experiences: a sand course named “Summer” and a snow course named “Winter.”

From January 17-23, 2023, the Summer Course will be closed for a refurbishment. During this time, the Winter Course will be available. The Winter Course will undergo a refurbishment from January 24-January 30, 2023. While this course is closed the Summer Course will still be available.
