Guests dining at the Magic Kingdom were not quite prepared for an emergency evacuation. How would you respond if this happened during your family vacation?
Emergencies at Disney
No one expects to experience an emergency while at Disney Park. Recently, we have seen quite a few evacuations and even fires at Walt Disney World. The most recent fire occurred last night during Harmonious. Check out a video of this incident HERE. Last week, an entire dining location was evacuated at EPCOT for a possible fire.
Earlier this year, a small fire occurred at the Magic Kingdom during their nighttime spectacular, Disney Enchantment. Another incident happened during a stage show which caused the show to come to a sudden halt. In July, we shared that a pulled fire alarm at Tower of Terror led all guests and Cast Members to evacuate the attraction.
Dining Evacuation
Disney guests set their calendars months (60 days to be exact) in advance to enjoy their favorite dining while at the Disney Parks. At Magic Kingdom, one of the most highly sought after reservations continues to be at Be Our Guest. Be Our Guest Restaurant is located in Fantasyland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
This is a themed dining meal where the Beast roams throughout his castle and greets Guests. There are three themed dining rooms. Be sure to check out my (Donna) favorite dining room HERE.
Recently, a fire alarm was pulled while guests were dining inside Be Our Guest. As the lights were flashing and the announcement to evacuate was being played, one guest tried to enjoy just a few last bites of this expensive meal.

We love the tag #dadmodeactivated. This dad wasn’t about to let that quality steak get left behind. We think probably more than just one guest was hoping to finish their meal before having to evacuate.

Thankfully this was just a fire alarm and no harm or damage was caused.
What do you think you would do if you were evacuated from your favorite Disney dining mid-meal? Would you take the plate out with you to enjoy the rest of your entree? Have you ever been evacuated while at a Disney Park? Share your thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.

So, what happens when you are evacuated during a meal? I've been evacuated from attractions many, many times, but never from a restaurant. Do they expect you to go in and eat cold food after sitting there, for who knows how long? Or, do they not charge you? I would be pretty upset if I had just received my food and was asked to leave, but here's your bill. Come back later and pay. Just asking.
