Check Out the new Opening Timeline for Guardians of the Galaxy

The great Disney announcements continue to roll in this morning. Check out this update for EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and find out the new opening timeline.

New Changes for EPCOT

Just in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, EPCOT is offering a grand celebration. Last night we received our first view of Harmonious. This is the newest nighttime show to be added to EPCOT and it was simply breathtaking!

We have also shared the Beacons of Light that help illuminate Spaceship Earth in a dazzling light display. And how could forget our favorite chef, Remy. Starting October 1, 2021, ALL Guests can shrink down to the size of a rat to enjoy the new Ratatouille Adventure.

Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction

The coaster, entitled Guardians of the Galaxy Retro Rewind, takes place during Peter Quill’s visit to Epcot in the 1980s. So, get ready for plenty of throwback Epcot nostalgia!

The ride will start in the “Galaxarium“, a planetarium like-structure. It will showcases the similarities between Earth’s galaxy (the Milky Way) and the  Guardians galaxy (Xandar).

This family-friendly coaster features a ride vehicle that can rotate 360 degrees and it will offer a reverse launch.  Be sure to check out this attraction video HERE.

It has a classic 70’s flashback style with that special Guardians of the Galaxy touch.

Opening Timeline

Disney Parks Blog shares, “Today my fellow Imagineers Tom Fitzgerald (left) and Scot Drake (right) gave us a new look inside the Wonders of Xandar pavilion currently under construction. Here you see them in the Galaxarium, which when completed will feature a planetarium-type presentation where the Xandarians show us their world, their people and their advanced technologies.“

Today, the Walt Disney Company announced that Guests will be able to enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in 2022. Although we do not have an exact date or even season. We are excited to know that we may soon be able to enjoy this amazing attraction.
