Another New Change for the Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue

Virtual Queue

Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular attractions in all of the Walt Disney World Parks. All Guests who have have valid Park Reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios may try for a Boarding Group at 7:00am and then again at 1:00pm. Typically these Boarding Groups are filled within seconds.

A Virtual Queue Boarding Group does not guarantee that you will be able to ride Rise of the Resistance. It simply holds your place in the virtual line for this attraction.

Recently, due to surprisingly low wait times at Walt Disney World, Boarding Groups were available throughout 2 entire days. This was AMAZING! Not to be outdone by some Guests experiencing this attraction multiple times in the same day. Read more about this HERE.

We may now be seeing yet another change for the Virtual Queue for Rise of the Resistance and we think that it is an improvement.

New Feature

Previously, all the members on your Friends and Family list who are in Hollywood Studios are automatically checked! This eliminates the need to scroll through and select everyone, which previously took away precious seconds. All you had to do was confirm and join.

There is now a new update for this screen that looks a bit different. Scott Gustin shared this new updated on Twitter earlier today:

This now pre-selects and confirms everyone in your traveling party that is eligible for this day. Eligible Guests would be those who have an eligible Park ticket and also a Park Pass Reservation or Disney’s Hollywood Studios on this day.

If you select “Change Party” then you would be able to select only the members of your party that you would like to have join the Virtual Queue. You do not want to do this, however, as it takes away precious seconds and you may lose your chance of joining the queue.

Routinely, with the exception of recent low crowds, Boarding Groups were literally assigned within seconds of the Virtual Queue opening.

If a member of your traveling party is not pre-selected, it would be more beneficial to go ahead through the Virtual Queue to gain your Boarding Group. When you enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios, ask a member of the Guest Experience team inside to add them to your Boarding Group.
