Disney World is going to be very busy for the rest of this month. Here are the details on why this is the case.

Increased Capacity

Among eliminating masks while outside (in most cases), temperature checks, relaxation stations, and queue markings in recent weeks, Disney World has also increased capacity. After a recent meeting, CEO Bob Chapek said that the company has been increasing capacity in the parks and would continue to do so.

This is all a great sign that we are heading back to normal, but it also has created a bit of an issue. You see, with increased capacity comes more Guests. More Guests means longer lines for attractions, food, and other activities on property.

There are also no FastPasses, so for the time being, the only answer to the longer wait times has been to increase capacity on the attractions as well. You can read more about what else should return now that capacity has increased HERE.

Busy May

So, why is the rest of this month going to be very busy? Disney has previously released additional park passes for the month of May, and now all three categories are sold out again for the rest of the month. Check out the screenshots from the reservation availability calendar below.

As you can see, after today there is nothing available for theme park tickets, select resort hotels, and annual passes. The gray means no parks are available to book.

If you are heading to Disney in the next week and still need to make park reservations, I suggest stalking the calendar in case something pops up! Otherwise, you will be spending a lot of time at the resorts and Disney Springs.

Looking to June

June is not looking great either for theme park tickets and select resort hotels. Many weekdays in June are already completely booked with other dates showing some availability. Currently, no dates are “green” meaning all parks are available for booking.

Annual Passholders have a bit more flexibility with most dates green, a few yellow, and only one gray.

Do not hesitate to book your park passes if you plan to visit Disney World in June! I guarantee more dates will sell out!
