Current Walt Disney World President, Jeff Vahle, shares in our recent article what guests may expect as Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom celebrates their 50th Anniversary in 2021 here. As part of his message, he shared the following: “We believe that 2021 will undoubtedly be a year of challenge, but also one that holds great promise.”

Vahle shared that one key component that will be at the heart of all the50th Anniversary celebrations:

Cast Members– the ones who make the Disney magic come alive for millions of guests every year- will be at the heart of the Park’s momentum around the milestone.

Cinderella Castle Updates

Visiting reopening week in July, we captured this close-up shot of Cinderella Castle. After studying the design, we discovered that it was an enormous Paint By Numbers project.  It was so interesting to watch this transformation unfold.

Also, Disney recently filed a permit stating General Construction on Cinderella Castle. To find out more information on this permit, read our recent article here.

Annual Passholders

Check out the My Disney Experience screenshot taken earlier today. Unfortunately, Magic Kingdom has completely sold out on October 1, 2021! This is not totally surprising since Annual Passholders can see more full days than other ticket types.

What About Theme Park Ticket Holders?

Unfortunately, if you hold Disney theme park tickets for October 2021, you’ll need to visit one of the other 3 Disney World Theme Parks since Magic Kingdom is totally booked.

Resort Guests

In the past, resort guests have seen the most availability for any given park day. At times, Hollywood Studios may be unavailable due to limited capacity. However, now resort guests are also seeing no availability for the 50th Anniversary.

Thoughts

What are your thoughts on parks being totally sold out already? Hopefully Disney will release more tickets, but there’s no guarantee. With all the cutbacks, including loss of Magical Express in 2022, I am a little surprised by this selling out so far in advance. Read our thoughts here on when Disney will share the 50th Anniversary Celebrations.

What do you think may be included with 50th Anniversary Celebration? Did you see it more as a day or year long celebration? Do you have plans to visit Magic Kingdom for the 50th anniversary? Share you thoughts with us on our Facebook Page.

That day, WDW’s 50th anniversary, is my 65th birthday. I would like nothing better than to see it in at WDW, but, until I get the vaccine, I am not going anywhere. This whole situation breaks my heart, but, more than anything else, I am afraid WDW will never return to the way it used to be. I can give up one day, but never to hug Mickey or Goofy again?
