The highlight of this day is meeting the classic characters in their swimwear.  They are ready to go to the beach and your time is limited, so be sure to meet them early in the day.  I’d recommend meeting the ones close to the ship first, then heading to the island for the others.

I chose to meet the ones that were available on the ship before heading out, but should have followed the advice above so I didn’t have to back track to meet Donald.

I started out by meeting Chip n Dale at Preludes on the ship at 9:00am.  The ship isn’t cleared for disembarkment until 9:45am and people jam the staircases and elevators with anxious excitement.

I then met Mickey Mouse on the Balcony.

The final character I met on the ship before leaving the ship was Pluto at the foot of the staircase.

It took quite some time to get off the ship and it was insanely hot at 10:00am this day.  I wished I had doused myself in cold water before heading to the island.  I saw Daisy at the Post Office near the ship.

Rather than just hanging around the area for the other characters, I ventured to the island.  It takes about 7 minutes to walk one way or you can wait a similar amount of time for a shuttle.  Goofy was listed as “Scuttles Cove,” but the actual meet is across from there where the sailboats are located.

Minnie was meeting at “Mt. Rustmore” which is only a few feet away on the same beach side area.

I then sauntered back toward the ship so I could meet Donald Duck at the Post Office.  If I had waited a couple more minutes, I could have gotten photos of Mickey and Pluto in these areas before heading back to Donald.

Captain Hook and Mr. Smee along with Chip n Dale are listed as “Gangway.”  They actually meet at the aft or rear of the ship outside.

Captain Jack Sparrow meets just across from Marge’s Barges, which is near the ship, at an area with treasure boxes and cannons.

I spent time taking photos of the island, ate some lunch and swim and relaxed at the adults only beach.  The character dance party is super easy to find, if you are interested.  It’s right in front of Cookies BBQ.  You’ll hear the music blasting away with your favorite Taylor Swift song.

While I was watching the See Ya Real Soon first offering, I got this great picture of Mickey looking longingly into statue Minnie’s eyes.

Captain Mickey onboard the Disney Fantasy

Late in the evening I was offered the opportunity to meet Pluto, Minnie, Mickey, Goofy and Donald all together for one photo.  It was awesome and I got to reunite with several of the wonderful character attendants.  I’m amazed that they can be so kind and happy despite working 7 days a week.  The Fantasy had such great Cast Members all around, but the character attendants were super helpful!

Daisy wasn’t in the group photo, so I stopped to let her know I’d see her in the parks real soon.

My son and I finished up our character meetings with a meet with Chip n Dale at See Ya Real Soon.  That’s when I realized it was the only time I had met them as sailors.

I wholeheartedly recommend sailing on board the Disney Fantasy.  While this post was focused on the character meets, there were great first class shows, terrific food, family fun, pools, the Aqua Duck, clubs for child through adult ages and so much more.  7 Days is the perfect time to combine your favorite things with times of relaxation.

Thanks for all the info. We sail Feb 23 on the Fantasy with a Star Wars Day At Sea. I’ve booked Chewbacca, R2D2, C3PO, and Darth Vader. Can’t wait. Heads up though. The photo package on the Disney Cruise Line is astoundingly expensive compared to Memory Maker, and in many ways inferior, such as unremovable borders. I’m using only my camera for photos the whole cruise this time.

Do you know if there's characters in the kids club? I'm going really soon and since I'm 16 I'll be in the teens club the vibe! I really want to spend time with a character and not just have a long wait to have a 1 minute conversation with them!

Characters do pop up in kids clubs from time to time. Lines on ships aren't that long. Maybe 15 minutes.

Kenny, your reviews are the best and make me want to become a cruise girl. Never been on one but can for sure see myself looking into it. Thanks for the mention about dressing up on certain nights. °o°

We took this same cruise in April. It was our first cruise and we really enjoyed it. I wish I had this review before going bc we missed out on our Castaway Cay pics with the characters!

Kenny, do you know if the transatlantic cruises have more or different characters? We are headed out on the Barcelona to New York one in September. Thanks!!!

I'll look into it, but doubt it is too much different
