Characters on board the Disney Fantasy
Day 3 - At Sea (4th of July)
I was told by a Cast Member that characters usually wear their Island Wear from 1:45pm onward on this day, but with 4th of July, we only saw 2 in those costumes.

My character locating on Day 3 began with wanting to get a photo of Captain Hook and Mr. Smee together. As I waited in the short line, I saw Goofy out on Deck 4 working out. It was around 10:00am.
Captain Hook and Smee together is about as much fun as meeting Chip n Dale. Hook has a temper and can go off in a moment's notice. He wanted to stand on a certain side for the photo and Smee was there, so a bit of a tif ensued.
I did some other activities, then it was my time for the Frozen meet and greet inside Animator's Palate. I arrived to find that only Princess Anna was meeting. The character attendant encouraged the guests to stop by guest services and book another time for Thursday or Friday. Evidently Queen Elsa had some royal business to attend to early in our trip.
After the meet with Anna, I found Minnie wearing a different Purple Princess costume and joined the line to meet her.
Later I found Donald wearing his Island wear. I was informed that all the characters typically wear these outfits on Day 3, but the 4th of July changed things up a bit. I was fine with that because I'd be less likely to cruise on the 4th again vs any other regular day.
It was then time for me to use my free ticket to meet all 4 Princesses. The group Princess meet that requires the ticket is held in the main Atrium on Deck 3. If you don't book online, be sure to stop by Guest Services. During my trip it was Cinderella, Tiana, Belle and Ariel. The wait was very short and I didn't have to repeat the same line multiple times.
Tinker Bell offered a special meet and greet area with a flower backdrop it is listed as Atrium Lobby V and is beside Guest Services behind a set of doors. They open the doors for the meets here.
After a brief 4th of July show which would go on to include live music on deck, I made my way down to meet Daisy who would be wearing Island Wear still.
At 4:30pm on July 4th the characters switched to their patriotic costumes. Every character that would appear, except Stitch, would wear a great All-American costume for the evening. I began with Pluto.
Donald was in a very celebratory mood.
I told Minnie that she looked like a young Betsy Ross
I squeezed in a meet with Mickey Mouse before attending the evening show. He is a combination of Apollo Creed and Uncle Sam.
My son wanted to meet Stitch, since there was no one in line for him. Everyone was interested the the Independence Day costumes.
We then met Chip n Dale before heading to dinner.
After dinner we met Goofy before enjoying some family activities and letting my son head off to Vibe for the remainder of the night.

Thanks for all the info. We sail Feb 23 on the Fantasy with a Star Wars Day At Sea. I’ve booked Chewbacca, R2D2, C3PO, and Darth Vader. Can’t wait. Heads up though. The photo package on the Disney Cruise Line is astoundingly expensive compared to Memory Maker, and in many ways inferior, such as unremovable borders. I’m using only my camera for photos the whole cruise this time.
Do you know if there's characters in the kids club? I'm going really soon and since I'm 16 I'll be in the teens club the vibe! I really want to spend time with a character and not just have a long wait to have a 1 minute conversation with them!
Characters do pop up in kids clubs from time to time. Lines on ships aren't that long. Maybe 15 minutes.
Kenny, your reviews are the best and make me want to become a cruise girl. Never been on one but can for sure see myself looking into it. Thanks for the mention about dressing up on certain nights. °o°

We took this same cruise in April. It was our first cruise and we really enjoyed it. I wish I had this review before going bc we missed out on our Castaway Cay pics with the characters!

The character attendants on the Cruise line are always so wonderful. They also are the main stage performers you can see in the Walt Disney Theater nightly!:)
Some appear for the deck parties as well.
Is your day 6 costume info correct? Don't the VIPs wear formal costumes on night 6?

We went on the fantasy last sept and loved it! The character team literally made our trip! We were calling ourselves the toddler paparazzi because our three year old had to meet everyone and by the end they all knew his name.
We will be on the magic this November can you tell me more about booking the special tickets online? For Disney junior and the princess gathering? They didn't offer that Last year and I would love to cross it off my list ahead of time

Thank you. This was great! I am going on the Fantasy in October and can't wait. We will be able to get the Halloween costume meets, but I didn't know about some of these others. We went on the Dream in December and got some great Christmas costume meets like Belle in her Christmas dress, Santa Goofy, and holiday beachwear at Castaway Cay. This makes me want to take a 4th of July cruise.
Well you convinced me! Lol! A couple a questons- are there always that many characters? & if it's Halloween cruise will they still do all outfits & just a Halloween night like July 4th night? Thanks!
On a 7 night Halloween would replace a 2nd cruise line or 2nd formal night from what I was told
