2 Big Changes Affect EPCOT's Mexico Pavilion
Without warning, these 2 changes now affect Guests at EPCOT's Mexico Pavilion.
EPCOT's World Showcase
Each of Epcot's 11 World Showcase-themed pavilions was created to represent each country's landscape, architecture, and marketplaces.
In each pavilion, you will find attractions, entertainment, architecture, food, shopping, and more. You could easily spend multiple visits exploring what each pavilion has to offer.
The best part is how immersive each pavilion is. Each pavilion is staffed with cultural representatives from the pavilion's country to provide an even more authentic experience.
Oaxacan Wood Carving Closed
At EPCOT's Mexico Pavilion, much of the cultural representation is hidden inside the large pyramid. Guests can enjoy great dining, the Grand Fiesta Tour attraction, amazing exhibits, and an open-air market.
One favorite among Guests is the Oaxacan Wood Carving stand. Offering unique wooden crafts, Guests could bring home a great piece of Mexican culture.
Unfortunately, we saw signs that the Oaxacan Wood Carving stand would close. This has now changed things quite a bit at the Mexico Pavilion.
Big Changes at the Mexico Pavilion
First, the closure of the Oaxacan Wood Carving stand affected Kidcot's location. Now, guests will find the Kidcot table located near the entrance of the pyramid. Here, guests, both young and young at heart, can learn more about Mexico and pick up a memorable memento with facts!

Second, the lively band, Mariachi Cobre, now plays indoors where the Oaxacan Wood Carving stand once stood. Typically, Mariachi Cobre plays outdoors and only moves inside for inclement weather. It is unclear if this move is permanent or temporary due to extreme heat.
Mariachi Cobre brings such a fun, authentic feel to Guests wandering through the Mexico pavilion. We hope that they will also play outdoors still to create this immersive experience, greeting Guests as they first step into the Mexico pavilion.
