Warning For Guests Uses Disney Resort Watercraft
Disney has changed up this transportation boarding location. Find out what you need to know.

There are many differing opinions on transportation options, largely depending upon which Disney Resort you are staying at and also which Park you will be visiting.
From the Skyliner, buses, ferry boats, and of course the monorail there are many options for Resort Guests to arrive at each of the Walt Disney World Parks. Choosing the fastest and most efficient form of transportation is key to a peaceful visit.
The Walt Disney World Resort is HUGE and many questions revolve around which is the quickest mode of transportation to arrive at each Park.
New Ferry Boat
Disney World is adding a 4th ferry boat to its fleet, Meg Gilbert Crofton. This ferry is expected to welcome Guests in 2027.
A new ferry dock is under construction outside the Magic Kingdom to accommodate this new addition.
Meg Gilbert Crofton served as the 4th Walt Disney World president from 2006-2013. You can read more about this new ferry boat HERE.
Disney Watercraft Launch Location Changes
Recently, Disney changed the location for where Guests board the resort watercraft from Magic Kingdom. On our most recent visit, we almost headed to the wrong launch until we noticed the signs had changed!
Guests will now board the boat for Disney's Grand Floridian and Polynesian at Boat Dock 1 - Entrance 3, while Guests looking to take the watercraft to the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will use Boat Dock 2.
Disney's Grand Floridian and Polynesian Resort boats' are now located at Boat Dock 1 - Entrance 3 and Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground boats' are located at Boat Dock 2.
Cast Members stated that this change was done to accommodate the larger number of Guests being transported from Fort Wilderness Campground. This change is expected to last until the construction is complete.
