Disney World Updates Transportation After 50 Years
After 50 years, Walt Diseny World finally makes a much needed transportation upgrade. Find out full details of this new addition.
Disney Transportation

There are many differing opinions on transportation options, largely depending upon which Disney Resort you are staying at and also which Park you will be visiting. The Walt Disney World Resort is HUGE and many questions revolve around which is the quickest mode of transportation to arrive at each Park.
From the Skyliner, buses, ferry boats, and of course the monorail there are many options for Resort Guests to arrive at each of the Walt Disney World Parks. Choosing the fastest and most efficient form of transportation is key to a peaceful visit.
You can see a full review of each form of Disney transportation HERE.
Disney Ferry Boat

Guests can either take the monorail to Magic Kingdom or Epcot, or take a ferry boat directly to Magic Kingdom. Disney offers 3 identical ferries transporting guests between Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Catch either the Richard F. Irvine, Admirable Joe Fowler, or Captain Joe Potter ferries daily. All of these are named in honor of people that helped plan and develop Disneyland or Disney World.
Now for the first time since 1976, Walt Disney World will add a 4th ferry boat to the fleet.
New Magic Kingdom Ferry Boat

As Magic Kingdom is undertaking its biggest expansion yet, a 4th ferry boat, Meg Gilbert Crofton, will be added to the fleet in 2027.
Meg Gilbert Crofton ferry boat will debut in 2027.
Meg Gilbert Crofton served as the 4th Walt Disney World president from 2006-2013. As with the other ferry boats, Meg Gilbert Crofton's portrait and commemorative plaque of her Walt Disney World legacy will be featured on the first deck of this ferry boat.
This is a much needed addition to help Guests arrive both quickly and safely.
