Disney Notifies Fort Wilderness Guests
Guests staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness are being notified of some big changes. Find out how this may affect your next stay.

Guests will take in the American frontier with all different types of wildlife, including deer, rabbits, ducks, and armadillos that will roam the resort. Can you believe that this resort takes up 750 acres? You can relax in the great outdoors only minutes from Magic Kingdom!

Construction is well underway at Fort Wilderness for Disney's Lakeshore Lodge. This new DVC resort is expected to open in 2027! Disney stated that the resort is "inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists."
Fort Wilderness Warning

Disney's Fort Wilderness has now started another big refurbishment project on the Big Pine Trail Sidewalk.
Due to soil erosion, extensive work will be required along this sidewalk.
This work is now underway and is expected to continue through mid-October. The fall sees a huge influx of Guests staying at Fort Wilderness. We have our fingers crossed that sidewalk refurbishment will be completed on time.
How will this affect Guests?

While we understand the need for this refurbishment due to soil erosion, refurbishment is never fun. Guests can expect occasional detours and path closures due to this work.
Big Pine Trail Sidewalk is now under refurbishment at Disney's Fort Wilderness.
Disney ensures that no resort amenities will be affected due to this work. Guests will want to allow extra time to accommodate potential closures and detours.
