With a Theme Park located in Central Florida, Guests have many weather concerns from hurricanes and tropical storms, thunderstorms, tornadoes, extreme heat, and even, on occasion, extreme cold.

In April, we shared that Disney recently filed a new patent, "Predicting and Mitigating Effects of Environmental Conditions". This new feature would help "determine the environmental conditions for a location".

Many guests are well aware that the summers at Walt Disney World can be hot. This may be why summer is the cheapest time to visit Walt Disney World.

Yesterday, July 9th, the National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for all East Central Florida counties, which includes the Walt Disney World Resort.

Unfortunately, the advisory has intensified as we head into a second straight day with an "Extreme Heat Advisory". This goes into effect today, July 10th, from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. Temperatures will be in the 90's, but the heat index will feel like 110°-112°.

As many Disney fans know, some Disney Parks can feel warmer due to the layout of the park. Yesterday, a Guest shared that the heat index at Disney's Hollywood Studios was close to 120°.

Tips to Stay Cool at Disney

All quick-service dining spots offer free cups of water to guests. This can be a great way to stay hydrated and enjoy a little shade and air conditioning throughout your day at Walt Disney World.

Today's heat index will be 110°-112° at Walt Disney World.
