One of the main reasons guests choose to stay at a Walt Disney World resort is the benefit of staying within the "Disney Bubble." The idea behind the "Disney Bubble" is that once you arrive at Walt Disney World, you never have to leave the Disney magic.
While Disney works hard to create a magical environment for guests, things still happen outside of its control. A big example of this is the unpredictable Florida weather.
Things inevitably still cause a trip to the Disney Parks to be a bit less than magical, from weather to technical difficulties to attractions, fire alarms, and transportation delays.
Bus Crash with Injuries
Another concern for guests visiting Walt Disney World is transportation. Although we have seen incidents in the past, it is safe to say that no one was expecting a vehicle crash to dampen their visit to EPCOT.
According to Walt Disney World: Active Calls, a vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of E Buena Vista Drive and Chelonia Parkway at 12:59 pm. It appears this involved a bus (not identified as a Walt Disney World bus) and a small passenger vehicle.
This appears to be near the EPCOT Cast Member parking lot. While we do not know the full extent, injuries are reported in this vehicle accident.
How this affects guests
Due to this collision, traffic has slowed at the intersection of E Buena Vista Drive and Chelonia Parkway. If you are driving, you may want to look for alternative routes this afternoon.
