Disney Reveals Name For This New Animal Addition

Disney's conservation efforts have brought numerous baby animals from various endangered and threatened species into the world. These births are part of an initiative called the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Plan.

Recent Arrival!
Last month, we shared that lots of new Disney babies had arrived. This included a new baby girl giraffe! You can see all the baby animals in that announcement HERE.
Masia giraffes are considered endangered with only an estimated 30,000 remaining.
When Disney made her arrival announcement, her name had not been shared.
What Is Her Name?
Disney recently shared how Cast Members play a part in how this new addition received her name. The keepers had a list of names and they got to vote for their favorite. Check out the video below:
The new baby giraffe calf is named Ivy!
Disney has shared that the new giraffe's name is Ivy! Many of the giraffes at Disney have tree inspired names. Even Ivy's mom is inspired by a tree, Willow.
Ivy is still backstage with mom, but eventually you will find her on the Kilimanjaro Safaris along side her half-brother Tucker.
