Breaking: Disney Cruise Line Cancels Sailing While Guests Are Onboard

Guests hoping to join Mickey Mouse and his pals on the high seas are now asked to disembark before setting sail. Do you think Disney's "goodwill gesture" is enough for these guests?

Many debate between a Disney Parks vacation and a Disney Cruise vacation. If current projects are any indication, it appears that the Disney Cruise industry is in high demand.

Disney has plans for 13 cruise ships in total in its fleet by 2031! You can check on the designs and new offerings for this growing fleet HERE.

Disney Cruise Line offers unbeatable entertainment and fun onboard activities. This is one of the main reasons why my (Donna) family loves a Disney Cruise vacation.

Disney Cruise Line will bring a brand new experience to the High Seas with their newest ship, Disney Adventure. From first-of-their-kind experiences and energetic new stage shows to dozens of dining options and countless character encounters, the Disney Adventure will be both a journey and a destination, providing an unforgettable vacation for everyone on board.

Before Disney Guests could enjoy this new ship, the Disney Adventure's maiden voyage was postponed by several months.

On May 7, 2026, Guests boarded the Disney Adventure for a 4-night cruise. Disney is now alerting Guests onboard, "The Disney Adventure remains in port in Singapore as our teams continue to address a mechanical issue. As the issue has not been resolved in the timeframe required to start this voyage, this current sailing has been cancelled."

Disney shares, "We apologize to our guests and are working with them directly to provide support for their travel needs."

According to Disney, guests will receive:

  • Full refund for their sailing
  • Complimentary hotel stay for the evening
  • Up to $500 USD for incidental expenses

The next sailing for the Disney Adventure is Monday, May 11, 2026. Disney is hopeful that the mechanical issue will be corrected for that sailing.
