Disney Appears to Discontinue MagicBand+
After launching MagicBand+ in 2022, it now appears that Disney Parks are phasing out MagicBand+. Find out what we know so far about this possible change.
MagicBand+

What once served as a convenient way to enter the parks, make payments, check in for attractions using Lightning Lane services, and linking photos taken by PhotoPass Cast Members, MagicBands have come a long way.
When MagicBand+ first debuted the big interactions included the 50th Anniversary golden statues and go on a quest with the Batuu Bounty Hunters experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Walt Disney World guests can experience MagicBand interactions while enjoying Festival of the Lion King, Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.
MagicBand+ Perk Removed

For several years, Walt Disney World Resort guests could receive a complimentary MagicBand. This ended in January 2021; however, Walt Disney World Resort guests could enjoy a discounted price on select MagicBands.
Last October, Walt Disney World also quietly removed the resort discount for pre-arrival MagicBand+ selections.
Unfortunately, when MagicBand+ first debuted at Disneyland Resort in October 2022, no discounts were available for Guests staying at a Disneyland Resort.
MagicBand+ Phased Out

Now it appears that Disneyland may be slowly discontinuing MagicBand+. According to @ScottGustin, MagicBand+ is currently only available at 3 locations at Disneyland.
MagicBand+ is now only offered at 3 locations at Disneyland.
According to sources, Gustin shares that after these remaining MagicBand+ are sold, they will not receive additional inventory. It is unclear if this will also affect Walt Disney World MagicBand+ inventory or not.

We love our magic bands and don’t want to be without them at Disney. We use our very old ones from the first year they came out and they still work up to current magic band plus. Also, have noticed people holding up lines using their phones.
I love using Magic Bands at Disney World, especially the old ones, as they are so convenient (although there are many things you have to use your phone for).
Agree with Deb that people using phones that you could use the MB for slow things down.
Really hope they don't do away with Magic Bands as they are really great especially with traveling with kids.
Disneyland never really caught on to the MagicBand anyway and it makes less sense there because you can't use it for tap to pay like at Disney World. Everyone just uses their phone. I still prefer the Magic Bands at Disney World so I hope they aren't really going away from all locations.
just got back from disney world and we were constantly held up by people using phones instead of magic bands or key cards. hopefully, they aren't going that way. we zipped through everything with a family of 6 with to little kids and a senior
what is the replacement???? is disney world doing it too????
I was a t Disneyland this past January. MagicBand+ was used for so many things. What the heck are they going to replace it with?
We love the older magicbands but didn’t want to pay the higher prices for the plus!!
I’m with you! The added cost for for a + band never seemed worthwhile. I do love my old bands however.
