Disney Will Soon Issue Weather Warnings to Guests
Disney may soon track Guests throughout the Park to issue weather updates. What do you think of this level of tracking and notifications while at Walt Disney World?
Disney World Warnings

Walt Disney World issues many warnings throughout the year to help keep Guests and Cast Members safe.
With a Theme Park located in Central Florida, most often the warnings we think of first are regarding hurricanes and tropical storms.
Over the past several months, we have shared warnings for high winds, fire bans, filming locations throughout the Disney Parks, attraction closures, cold weather warnings, and even the dreaded refurbishment of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom.
My Disney Experience Notifications

Although many guests would rather not be on their phone while on vacation, the My Disney Experience app for Disney World Guests is truly invaluable.
Walt Disney World will often display pop-up notifications to guests via the My Disney Experience app. This is helpful to communicate ride closures, changes in operations, and important updates.
Disney recently filed a new patent, "Predicting and Mitigating Effects of Environmental Conditions".
Disney Weather App

This new feature would help "determine the environmental conditions for a location". While this does sound like a common weather app, this new update would issue weather alerts to guests visiting the parks.
Disney filed a new patent to share weather notifications with park guests.
Disney shares in the patent, "the prediction is based on at least one of a biological characteristic of the user and/or an activity schedule of the user." This appears to still be in development. We will share details when this update arrives on the My Disney Experience app.
