One of the main reasons guests choose to stay at a Walt Disney World resort is the benefit of staying within the "Disney Bubble." The idea behind the "Disney Bubble" is that once you arrive at Walt Disney World, you never have to leave the Disney magic.

While Disney works hard to create a magical environment for guests, things still happen outside of its control. A big example of this is the unpredictable Florida weather.

Things inevitably still cause a trip to the Disney Parks to be a bit less than magical, from weather to technical difficulties to attractions, fire alarms, and transportation delays.

Another concern for guests visiting Walt Disney World is transportation. Although we have seen incidents in the past, it is safe to say that no one was expecting a vehicle crash to dampen their visit to EPCOT.

According to WESH2 a vehicle crash was reported at 1:22 am today, March 15, 2026, at EPCOT Drive and Overpass Road in Orange County.

The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the driver of a 2023 Hyundai Elantra was driving over the posted speed limit and lost control of the vehicle when approaching a curve.

The driver of the Hyundai Elantra veered off the road and struck a tree. It appears the vehicle burst into flames.

A fatal crash on EPCOT Center Drive occurred this morning around 1:22 am.

Sadly, the Florida Highway Patrol stated the driver was confirmed deceased at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
