Big Change Hits Smugglers Run
After Disney acknowledged that Millennium Falcon: Smugglers was good, but not great, they now announced a BIG change to this attraction.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run allows Guests to be given the tasks of pilot, engineer, and gunner to assist Hondo Ahnaka in delivering a backlog of hard-to-find items. During the pre-show, Hondo Ohnaka gives you some helpful tips to complete your mission.
No matter which position you are given, this is a great, immersive experience where you experience the thrill of jumping into hyperspace.
The best part is new lands will be featured aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run beginning May 22, 2026, featuring everyone's favorite Grogu. Check out full details of this addition HERE.
Why the Change for Smugglers Run
Earlier this month, Josh D'Amaro was named the next Walt Disney Company CEO, replacing Bob Iger. D'Amaro previously served as Chairman of Disney Parks, Experience and Products.
During this role, D'Amaro realized that Guests "liked" Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, but they didn't "love" it.
D'Amaro and Imagineers took on the challenge of changing Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run to make it an attraction that Guests "love".
Smugglers Run- A New Mission
This is what birthed the new missions coming to the attraction this coming May. When the attraction opens it will then be named Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run- A New Mission.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run- A New Mission opens on May 22, 2026.
Disney has also updated the attraction's description: "Beginning May 22, 2026, join Din Djarin, the mysterious Mandalorian bounty hunter, and his youngling Grogu on an exciting new mission- tracking down elusive ex-imperial officers throughout the galaxy."
